Eulogies pour for ex-NDLEA boss, Chikezie at 60

It was a glorious moment of joy, thanksgiving and merriment on Monday 20th April 2020 for Dr. (Mrs) Ijeoma Julia-Jane Chikezie as she clocked the diamond age of 60 years.

A former Deputy Commandant of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, and current Chairperson /Chief Executive of Divine Women of Purpose  Association (DWOPA), a non-Governmental Charity based organization in Abuja which she founded six years ago, Mrs Chikezie was born on 20th April 1960 at Umuozu Nwangele LGA of Imo State to late Chief  James and Lolo Harriet Obiefule of blessed memory.

A well read woman and lover of education and child mentoring, Dr Chikezie studied at the Univerity of Nigeria Nsukka, the University of Ilorin, University of Lagos Akoka and University of Abuja, where she obtained a Doctorate degree ( PhD) Education with specialization in Guidance and Councilling. She is married to Pastor Charles Chikezie a retired Director of Public Communications,  Federal Ministry of Information and Culture.

At a low key celebration put together by her children and grand children at their Karu Abuja residence,  family members, friends and business associates used the occasion to celebrate, honour and give thanks to God for the life of Mrs Chikezie whom they described as humane, caring, hardworking, God fearing, honest and defender of the defenceless.

Prof. Joy Ogwu a former Nigerian diplomat described the celebrant as one of the most honest women in Nigeria. Her words” it is my honour to lend my voice to those who have extolled your virtues  and extraordinary mission as you celebrate the landmark age of Sixty.  May the Lord keep,  preserve and sustain you and yours in all seasons as you labour in His Vineyard.  Blessings always, and enjoy your day”

Dr Obinna Nwachukwu, a DWOPA Patron and veteran journalist who conducted the cutting of the birthday cake  described her as “a special breed, a special purpose vehicle of God to better the lots of humanity”

.  According to him, at 60 , Mrs Chikezie had only started to do God’s work and advised her never to relent. ” God almighty that brought you to this level will continue to abide with you and your family.. Happy birthday woman of valour, woman of substance, the 21st century mother Theresa”

In the words of Chief Stephen Akejelu, a retired public servant, Mrs Chikezie is an inspiration to the Akejelu family and many other families. He prayed God to continue to keep both families. ” Celebrate your day in good health” he added.

A child- hood friend of the celebrant,  Pharmacist Nkechi  Ezeudu said Mrs Chikezie understands someone ‘s pain without being told and profer solution.
Said her  ”  I am happy to be identified with you because you are close  to God’s heart.
You are a woman in a million. Pastor (Chief) Chikezie is blessed to have had an eagle eye to identify a woman with heart of gold at  such tender age.
She forgo Position, Carrier ,Influence and key into the husband vision to retire  from Civil Service , Volunteering to take care of her husband . Mrs Chikezie needs to be emulated, she stated.

Mrs Chikezie kid sister Mrs  Oby Elekwa in her tribute prayed   that the Holy Spirit would distinguish the celebrant among the Apostles of this time and  grant her in-depth revelational knowledge of the mysteries of the kingdom. ” God will put in your hands the resources  you need for this next phase of your life. With long life shall He satisfy you and continually shine His face upon you. Happy birthday ” She wrote.

In his own tribute the husband Pastor Chikezie described her wife as ” a jewel of inestimable value, a soul mate, a caregiver, prayer warrior and divine gift from God”, while her daughter Mrs Amarachi Chukwu said her mother was ” sweet, beautiful inside- out, intelligent, God lover” and that her services to humanity is second to none.

The event attracted family members, friends and associates including Chief and Lolo Stephen Akejelu, Nze Dr Obinna Nwachukwu, Deaconess Oby Elekwa, DWOPA national coordinator, Pastor and Mrs Johnson Bello, Mr and Mrs Christain Chukwu and many others.
