The death has been occurred of Air Vice Marshall Mukhtar Muhammad (rtd)

Late AVM Muhammad died on Sunday in a hospital in London after a protracted illness.

His remains would return to Nigeria today for buriel according to Islamic rites.
Until his death, late AVM Muhammad was the Wazirin Dutse, Jigawa state and Chairman of the first private FM station in Kano, Freedom Radio.

As a Wing Commander, Muktar Muhammed was the military governor of Kaduna State from July 1978 to October 1979 during the military regime of General Olusegun Obasanjo and played an active role in the coup that brought Gen. Murtala Mohammed to power.

He was later appointed to the new Supreme Military Council on 30 July 1975. He was appointed governor of Kaduna State in 1977, in which position he was promoted to Group Captain.
