The suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, is in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) custody.
A statement issued by the Public Relations Officer (PRO), Peter Afunanya, on Saturday, confirmed the development.
“The Department of State Services (DSS) hereby confirms that Mr Godwin Emefiele, the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is now in its custody for some investigative reasons,” it said.
“The public, particularly the Media, is enjoined to apply utmost caution in the reportage and narratives concerning this”, ROYAL NEWS reports.
Meanwhile, in a viral video on social media, some DSS personnel were seen transferring the embattled CBN Governor from a Toyota Hilux van into a private plane at a location suspected to be the private wing of the Murtala Muhammad International Airport, Lagos.
