Family hold fidau prayers for late UNILORIN Don, Prof. Mudathir Funsho-Akorede

An islamic cleric and Chief Imam of Ahbabudeen Islamic Society of Nigeria, Imam Ali Imam, on Sunday spoke on the need for mortal to combine good deeds with religion obligations.

 

He stated this while presiding over the third day prayer for the repose of the soul of late Professor Mudathir Funsho-Akorede at his residence in Ilorin.

 

ROYAL NEWS reports that Professor Mudathir Funsho-Akorede who died last Friday and buried according to Islamic injunction was until his death a lecturer in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, University of Ilorin.

 

According to him, “The demise of Professor Funsho-Akorede came as a shock to everyone, his family and loved ones should take solace that he lived a righteous and fulfilled life.”

 

In a brief sermon, the Imam of Biada Community Mosque, Upper Gaa Akanbi Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Gobir described the deceased as a devoted Muslim who was generous to everyone.

In a remark, Dr Sheriffdeen Yusuf of Kogi State University, reminded the congregation that death is inevitable and will always come when it is least expected.

Dr. Yusuf prayed Allah to grant the deceased Aljanat firdaus and give his family fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

 

The Fidau prayer had in attendance people from all walks of life, including high powered delegation from the University of Ilorin, Ahbabudeen Islamic Society of Nigeria, Kwara State branch, retired Permanent Secretary in Kwara State, Alhaji Abdulganiyu Opeloyeru and other sympathizers.
