FG Sends Message of Support to Super Eagles

Date:

The Federal Government has urged the Super Eagles to give their all when they face host nation Morocco in Wednesday’s Africa Cup of Nations semi-final, as Nigeria seeks a place in the final of the tournament.

The message was delivered on behalf of the government by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, who said the entire country was firmly behind the team.

Idris praised the Super Eagles for their performances so far, noting that their discipline, courage and consistency had reinforced Nigeria’s status as one of Africa’s most respected football nations.

He reminded the players of their pedigree at the continental level, referencing past AFCON triumphs and hard-fought victories against top opponents, which he said were built on teamwork, confidence and resilience.

According to the minister, the same fighting spirit has been evident in the team’s current campaign and should guide them against Morocco.

“As you step onto the pitch, remember that you are not alone. You carry the hopes of millions of Nigerians who believe in you and draw strength from your performances,” Idris said in the statement.

He urged the players to approach the match with unity, focus and belief, stressing the importance of commitment from the opening whistle to the final minute.

“Stay focused, trust one another, and give your best from the first whistle to the last. Win every ball and fight for every chance,” the message added.

Nigeria will take on Morocco later on Wednesday, with the winner advancing to the final of the Africa Cup of Nations.
