FG’ll beef-up, strengthen security along all train routes– Alkali
The Minister of Transportation, Sen. Sai’du Alkali has expressed the Federal Government’s determination to revamp the rail transport sector for better service delivery in line with President Bola Tinibu’s promise of safe, accessible and affordable transport system for Nigerians.
The Minister disclosed this when he paid an unscheduled visit to the idu Train Station, Abuja, and further revealed plans to reposition railway services, while strengthening collaboration with the Military high command to beef up security along all train routes.
Alkali commended the security operatives on the Abuja routes for providing security, and assured them of prompt payment of allowances and promised that all unpaid allowances will be paid without further delay.
Affirming rail transport services as the best means of transportation, Alkali urged for continued patronage of the trains across the country as concerted efforts are being made to run it in line with global best practices, noting that the train coaches, conveniences, lifts and escalators at the train stations would be fixed without delays.
