Gombe based Non Governmental Organisation (NGO), Masoyi Foundation has trained 500 women in different trades to create employment and reduce poverty in the state.

Malam Abba Hassan, Founder and President of the organisation made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Gombe on Sunday.

He said the beneficiaries had been exposed to catering services, tailoring, shoe and bag making and cosmetology.

He said the training was designed to cushion the effects of the harsh economic realities, empower youth and women, create jobs and enhance wealth creation in the society.

According to him, the foundation has trained over 2,000 women and persons living with disabilities across the 11 local government areas of the state.

He urged the beneficiaries to register their businesses with cooperative societies to enable them to access loan facilities.
