Haircut: UNILORIN student poised for Guinness Book of Records

In an astounding display of skills and precision, Mr Qudus Owoyemi, a 400-level student of the Department of Statistics, University of Ilorin, has set a new world record for the fastest time devoted to completing five skin fade haircuts.

This remarkable achievement, which was accomplished in just 14 minutes, 56 seconds, and 83 milliseconds, surpassed the previous record of 18 minutes and 57 seconds.

The groundbreaking event, which unfolded last Wednesday (January 25, 2024) at the University’s Students’ Union Building, is expected to make the Guinness World Book of Records listing.

Mr Owoyemi, who is also a University scholar with an impressive CGPA of 4.87, performed the feat to the cheers of a captivated audience, including the Sub-Dean of Student Affairs, Dr Mohammed Kabir Garba, and the Students Union President, Comrade Joseph Ologundudu.

Speaking at the event, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin,
Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, lauded Mr Owoyemi’s remarkable achievement as he said that the University was very proud of his feat.

Prof. Egbewole, who spoke on the phone, encouraged other students to pursue their passions. He assured that the University’s management would continue to support innovation and lofty ideals that would elevate the University’s reputation.

The Vice Chancellor noted that the achievement has further solidified the University commitment to excellence and innovation.
