Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has named his top three favourites to win the UEFA Champions League this season following the Gunners’ emphatic 4-0 victory over Atletico Madrid on Tuesday.
Speaking on CBS Sports, host Kate Scott revealed that Henry tipped Arsenal, Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint-Germain as the leading contenders for this year’s title.
Scott made the comment while discussing Arsenal’s impressive performance with fellow pundit and Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher.
“Thierry [Henry] spoke about Arsenal in very high terms and obviously put them beside Bayern Munich and PSG in terms of favourites for this competition now,” Scott said.
She then turned to Carragher, asking, “Do you see it similarly, Jamie?”
Arsenal secured the dominant win at the Emirates Stadium thanks to goals from Gabriel Magalhães, Gabriel Martinelli, and a brace from Viktor Gyökeres.
Meanwhile, defending champions Paris Saint-Germain are looking to retain their title after winning last season’s Champions League with a 5-0 victory over Inter Milan in the final.
