Hisbah reunites 681 persons with families in Jigawa

The Jigawa Hisbah Commission says that it successfully reunited 681 people with their families in its various operations in 2021.

Hisbah state commander Ibrahim Dahiru had this to say when speaking to reporters in Dutse on Tuesday.

Mr. Dahiru said that the people included 372 almajiri students and 237 women who left home due to forced marriage.

“There were also 37 people with mental disabilities, 31 missing people and four minors believed to have been forced into child labour,” he said.

The commander said the commission also provided funding to 548 people in the state in the period under review.

Mr. Dahiru said that the agency also held 1,683 counseling sessions in the 27 Local Government Areas, LGAs, of the state.

He praised members of the public for their support of the command and urged residents not to engage in immoral acts and vices capable of destroying society.
