Husband fled Osogbo over missing wife, 4 children

A middle aged man, Olalere Omileke has cried out over his inability to locate his wife and four children, ROYAL NEWS reports.

In a petition addressed to the Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali, the victim explained that his ordeal started since his wife and four children disappeared some time ago.

This, according to him, occurred when his family who are based in Osogbo, Osun State requested that his four female children must be circumcised, a culture he considered anachronistic and rebuffed.

He said: “This led to the missing of my wife and four children under mysterious circumstance and all efforts to trace or locate them proved abortive.

“To worsen the matter, my family members summoned me to a meeting where I was given a seven-day ultimatum to produce both my wife and the children failure to which I must be ready to face dire consequences.

The development scared me that my family members could not back me, following which I fled Osogbo for a village in Plateau state capital where my mother hailed from.”

Omileke, who has now found it difficult to maintain a permanent address due to hostilities in the middle belt explained that religion and herdsman /farmers cries in the state had made the place a hell for him to live.

According to him “the cries in the state made it practically impossible for anybody to live in peace as kidnapping and killing had become the order of the day. It was by the grace of God that I escaped through the back yard when the gun men attacked my residence in the night and had to stay for some night in the bush.

Omileke added that, “A God sent hunter came to my rescue and took me to a popular Catholic Bishop (name withheld), who provided temporary relief for me and facilitated my escape from the state on the ground that it would be suicidal for both of us if I should continue to stay with him.

While asking the IGP to investigate the circumstances surrounding the missiing of his wife and children, he disclosed that ,he presently has no place to keep himself and cannot account for his mother and siblings since the mother’s house in the state has been burnt by the gangsters terrorising the state.
