Popular Nigerian rapper and singer, Ice Prince Zamani, has clarified that his recent drastic weight loss is not due to illness but a result of deliberate lifestyle changes.
The Oleku crooner took to his official X (formerly Twitter) page on Monday to share the story behind his transformation, explaining that he decided to shed excess weight after concerns from close friends and family about his health and appearance.
Ice Prince revealed that he had gained significant belly fat as a result of poor lifestyle choices but was inspired to turn things around following encouragement from music producer Chopstix and a friend named Dami.
“God so good inna me life… A short story!
I was literally about to explode. No sickness (Bless God), just bad habits and choices,” he wrote.
“Chopstix and Dami said, ‘Let’s lose the belly, Ice,’ and that really sparked something in my brain that got me activated. From that meeting, my brother Chopstix started coming to my house every day after dinner, and we both walked my estate for an hour.”
The rapper added that the walks became more than just an exercise routine, as they also served as moments of deep conversations and reflection.
“Our talks during those walks are priceless to me, just like everything we’ve talked about since we were kids,” he added.
Ice Prince’s revelation comes amid growing public interest in celebrity fitness transformations.
In 2022, actress Eniola Badmus made headlines after losing over 80 kilograms, dropping from 170kg to 90kg. Similarly, earlier this year, Mercy Johnson-Okojie drew public attention after her own dramatic weight loss, later clarifying that it followed a thyroid operation that sparked false cancer rumours.
