IEDPU hails NIHORT’s CEO, Lawal Attanda over professorial elevation

Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), the apex sociocultural organisation of the good people of Ilorin Emirate, has congratulated the Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer of the National Horticultural Research Institute,( NIHORT), Ibadan, Oyo State, Muhammad Lawal Attanda, on his elevation to the enviable rank of Professor of Agricultural and Environmental Engineering by the authorities of Bayero University, Kano.

The Union, in a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Nurudeen Ibrahim, described the career progression of NIHORT’s Executive Director as a welcome development.

The Union said that Prof. Attanda, who is a member of its Kano Branch, is a distinguished son of Ilorin as it also described him as someone who has been showing remarkable patriotism as a staff member of Bayero University, Kano and also as a Chief Executive of a federal agency.

The statement commended the authorities of the university for rewarding academic and professional excellence of Prof. Atanda with his promotion to the pinnacle of the academic profession.

Prof. Attanda, who obtained all his academic degrees from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, is one of the children of late Alhaji A. A. Attanda, a member of the first generation of professional Pharmacists produced by Ilorin Emirate.

The Union wished Prof. Attanda a more successful and rewarding career.
