Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq is saddened by the sudden death of revered Muslim cleric Sheikh Muhammad Jamaalu Deen Yahyah Murtadoh Agodi in the early hours of Saturday, March 29, 2025.
Sheikh Jamaalu Deen, orator, historian, and a scion of the esteemed late Sheikh Yahyah Agodi, was a leader of the Markaz Taaleemil-arobiyyah wal Islamiyyah, Agodi, Ilorin.
Governor AbdulRazaq extends his heartfelt condolences to the family of the late scholar, the Markaz Family, and the Muslim community in Ilorin Emirate on the sad development.
“The death of the exemplary scholar, barely 72 hours after leading a prayer at a night of majesty (laylatul qadr) event during which he prayed that the congregants witness many Ramadan fasts, reminds us of the fleeting nature of life and a need to constantly dedicate oneself to the service of God,” according to the Governor.
“We ask Allaah to forgive Sheikh Muhammad Jamaalu Deen Agodi, illuminate and widen his grave, and admit him to al-jannah Firdaus.”
