INEC Opens Portal For Online Accreditation Ahead of Ondo Guber Poll

The Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC), has announced the opening of online portal for the accreditation of journalists and media organisations wishing to cover the Ondo State Governorship election scheduled for November 16, which will open on Monday, September 9, 2024.

This was as the electoral umpire said the portal would automatically shut down at midnight on Thursday, October 31, 2024.

The National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, Sam Olumekun, made this known in a statement on Monday.

He noted that interested media organisations wishing to deploy journalists and technical staff to cover the election are to apply using the dedicated link.

“We implore prospective applicants to do the needful well ahead of the 31st October deadline.

“There will be no deadline extension, while late submission will not be entertained,” the statement added.
