Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) has warned that any renewed military strikes by the United States or Israel could escalate the conflict across the Middle East and beyond.
In a statement published on its Sepah News website on Wednesday, the IRGC said a repeat of what it described as aggression against Iran would trigger a wider regional war, with “devastating blows” against its adversaries.
The warning follows comments by US President Donald Trump, who said Washington could launch fresh strikes on Iran if no lasting agreement is reached in the coming days. He added that a limited timeframe had been set for negotiations, warning that military action remained an option.
Tensions between both sides have continued despite a ceasefire that has been in place since April 8, following weeks of escalating hostilities that began in late February. The conflict had previously led to exchanges of missile and drone attacks across the region.
The IRGC accused the United States and Israel of using extensive military force during the earlier confrontation, while insisting that Iran had not fully deployed its defensive capabilities. It also maintained that any future escalation would be met with a stronger response.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi also warned on social media that a return to war would bring “many more surprises,” as diplomatic efforts continue alongside rising threats from both sides.
