American President Joe Biden has urged Congress to pass the police reform that would address racially motivated brutality in May.

Biden made the call in a speech before a joint session of Congress on Wednesday evening; he says, “Let’s get it done next month by the first anniversary of George Floyd’s death.

“The country also wants this reform. Congress should act on it,” Biden said. Floyd, an African American resident of Minneapolis, died in police custody last May.

Meanwhile, the police reform bears Chauvin’s name and has already passed the House of Representatives but faces an uphill battle in the Senate.

President Biden called on Democrats and Republicans to find common ground.

“Am so sure that the Republicans have their ideas and are engaged in productive discussions with Democrats.

“To see a good result, we need to work together to find a consensus,” he said.
