JUST IN…..Emir Sulu-Gambari reacts to Supreme Court verdict, confirms new Balogun Agba

The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Mai-Martaba Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, has expressed delight over the Supreme Court which dismissed the appeal suit filed by the former Balogun Gambari of Ilorin, Alhaji Abdulkareem Laaro, on Friday.

This is contained in a statement issued by his Spokesman, Mallam Abdulazeez Arowona, stressing that, “The judgement is well deserving and gladden the heart of the people of Ilorin Emirate.”

The statement added that the people of Ilorin especially, Village Heads, District Heads, Baloguns, Magajis as well as traditional title holders should continue to uphold and promote the culture and tradition of the ancient city of Ilorin.

“With the supreme judgement, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, hereby approve the upgrade of the current Balogun Gambari of Ilorin, Alhaji Aliu Adebayo, as the substantive most senior Kingmaker (Balogun Agba) of Ilorin Emirate.

“The Emir however urge members of the Ilorin Emirate Council to support the new Balogun Agba in the discharge of his duties in coordinating the affairs of the council.”
