The Kduna State government has banned illegal exploitation of forest resources and reserved.
The Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources in the state, Malam Ibrahim Hussaini, disclosed this while addressing management staff of the ministry in his office during a meeting in preparation for an exercise to sensitise the public on dangers of illegal exploitation of forest reserves.
He said every serious government must pro-actively rised above board to curtail illegal deforestation, control and managed pollutions.
Hussaini, in a statement contained in the weekly publication of kaduna State government, Monday edition, stated that exploitation of forest reserved and it effects will attract punishment for offender, stressing that forest department of the ministry would embarked on Serious campaigns, arrest and prosecution of forestry offenders who illegally exploit reserves in the state.
He therefore called on illegal firewood, charcoal ,timber and timber shades including any activity in forestry to formerly register with the state government and government approved trade union.
According to him this would enable government recognized the sector, control and monitor forestry activities.
The commissioner therefore directed the deployment of the forest guards, rangers and other officials of the ministry across the three senatorial zones in the state for the exercise and warned that any officials found aiding illegal forest activities would be punished accordingly.
