Kano govt gets 66-bed isolation centre from CACOVID-19

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to hit hard on the Nigerian populace, the Coalition of Private Organizations CACOVID-19 has delivered a 66 beds isolation centre at Abubakar Imam Urology Hospital to Kano state government.

ROYAL NEWS reports that the state government’s Urology facility established in 2008, was earlier converted to isolation centre to carter for the growing numbers of active cases of coronavirus in Kano.

Further checks revealed that the centre was renovated and equipped by CACOVID-19, a coalition of private bodies as part of corporate social responsibility being extended across the country to tame the spread of the deadly virus.

Speaking during the handing over ceremony, representative of CACOVID Alhaji Abdulkadir Sidi revealed that, the coalition has spent over N200 million in uplifting the standard of the 66 beds facility to a modern standard.

Alhaji Sidi explained that the project was executed by Nigeria’s Private Sector Coalition Against COVID-19 to ease the burden on Kano state government in the management of active cases.

He stressed that the 66-bed facility is fitted with ventilators, monitors, oxygen, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and other basic equipment to manage COVID-19 patients.

The coalitions consisting of 107 donors including individuals, corporate bodies and organizations have risen over N25.8billion to power their supports across the country.

Taken the delivering, Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje applauded the support of the towards eradication COVID-19 pandemic in Kano.

Ganduje who expressed hope of the end of the pandemic in Kano also appealed on residents to obey the lockdown order.

He said the only means to break the chain of community transmission of the virus is to stay at home to contain the spread of the disease.
