Kebbi varsity gets new VC

The Governing Council of Kebbi State University of Science and Technology, Aliero, has appointed Professor Bashar Ladan Aliero as the new Vice Chancellor of the University.

In a statement made available to ROYAL NEWS on Tuesday by the Chief Information Officer of the University, Mallam Husaini Adamu Zuru, the new Vice Chancellor was until his appointment a lecturer with the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto in Sokoto State.

He added that, “The letter of appointment was signed by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman Governing Council of the University Maj. Gen. Muhammad Magoro (Rtd). This was subject to the approval of the State Governor, Senator Atiku Bagudu.

“Prof. Ladan Aliero has assumed duty since yesterday (Monday) haven taken over from Prof Bello Shehu Malami who has been in acting capacity for over two years.”

The statement however disclosed that” Governor Bagudu and the Gen. Magoro as well as the entire University Community wished the newly appointed Vice Chancellor a successful tenure in office.”
