Kuwaiti govt. donates sallah packages to over 10,000 households in Abuja, Kwara

No fewer than 10,000 households on Sunday benefitted from Eid-el-Kabir Sallah Packages distributed by the Zakat House of Kuwait in collaboration with Darul Kitab Oragnization for Relief and Peace as palliative for good living.

The Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to Nigeria, Amb. Abdulaziz Albishir Bu Uthman, stated this while speaking on Sunday with journalists in Abuja shortly after the distribution reiterated his commitments to strengthening the diplomatic ties between Nigeria and State of Kuwait.

He noted that the relationship will further foster sustainable global peace and mutual economic prosperity.

Items distributed includes food stuffs, meat, noodles and groundnut oil among others to over 5,000 households.

The gesture was carried out by Zakat House of Kuwait in collaboration with Darul-Kitab organization for Relief and Peace in different location locations in Abuja and Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, as parts of efforts towards eradicating poverty and finding succor to the lives of the poor.

According to Ambassador Bu Uthman, “Kuwaitian and Nigerian have aged-long diplomatic tides which have over the years translated into economic harmony among the two nations. I am here to ensure that the relationship continue to remain cordial and even stronger.

“It is on this note that we are distributing food items to our brothers, sisters and children so as to make them feel relief during sallah festival. By the grace of God, we shall not stop at that; we shall continue to do our best towards ensuring the peace continue to reign globally.

“However, it is pertinent to also appeal to our brothers and sisters to avoid all acts of terrorism capable of truncating the desired peaceful co-existence in our society. There is an urgent need to wage war against kidnapping, insurgency and armed robbery and embrace unity, love and harmony in the land. We shall continue to support Nigeria government in this direction at all times.”

The envoy further commended the Executive Director of Darul-Kitab Organization for Relief and Peace, Sheikh Dr. AbdulKadir As-Salman, for justifying the confidence repose in him by ensuring judicious distribution of the items.

He further promised to guard the existing between Zakat House of Kuwait and Darul-Kitab Organization stressing that the relationship will no doubt impact positively of the less privilege.

The envoy also conveyed the sallah message of the Emir of the State of Kuwait, Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah to President Muhammadu Buhari and the government and good people of Nigeria on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir festival.

In his remarks, Dr. As-Salman promised his unflinching commitment to sustaining the relationship stressing that only in an atmosphere of peace that growths and development can be achieved.
