Kwara Commends Solina Health on Projects Implementation

Consequent upon the implementation of nutrition projects in Kwara State, the State Government has Commended the partnership with Solina Health, for adding values to the health sector in the State.

The Commissioner for Health Dr Amina Ahmed El-lmam made this commendation during the week, at the Acceleration Nutrition Results in Nigeria (ANRiN) project exit meeting with Solina Health Kwara State.

The Commissioner who was represented by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Hajia Afusat Ibrahim affirmed, the State have witnessed remarkable transformation over the past four years, as a result of the commitment of Solina Health in the implementation of Nutrition program.

According to the Commissioner, “children have received several doses of vitamin A, Zinc, ORS, deworming drugs and micronutrients powder which all enhances growth and development of the body and brain. Further more, pregnant mothers have also gained vital knowledge and resources to ensure that their babies are given the best possible start in life, through diverse sensitization programmes, organized by Solina and ANRiN.”

She however appreciates the World Bank as well as Federal Republic of Nigeria for the technical and financial supports, towards the implimentation of ANRiN project in Kwara State.

Earlier, the Kwara State Programme Director Solina health, Dr Daniel Abraham appreciated the State Government for giving the organization an enabling environment to operate, which enabled the the organization to implement the services entrusted to them, that is, to improve lives of Kwarans.

He was further enthused about the cooperation enjoyed from management and staff of Kwara State Ministry Health, describing it as excellent and incomparable with that of other States.

Also speaking, the Solina Monitoring and Evaluation Manager, Mr Francis Fatoye highlighted the achievements of Solina Health in the State, thanking them for the successful implementation of Nutrition project.

He commended the team work of the State Health Ministry, Solina Health and all Stakeholders in the Health sector.

The State Director of Public Health, Dr Oluwatosin Fakayode, thanked the State Government specially for the prompt payment of Counterpart funds for ANRiN project and the political commitment which enhanced its successful implementation.

Those who attended the event were; the Program Manager ANRiN Dr Habeeb Lawal, World Bank Technical Adviser, Dr Hafis Ishowo and Heads of Directorates Kwara State Ministry of Health amongst others.
