In its sustained effort to ensure hitch-free traffic for our staff members, new and returning students as they resume for the new academic session on Thursday, December 15th, 2022, the Management of the University of Ilorin met with the Kwara State Commissioner for Works, Engr. Rotimi Ilyasu, and the following agreements were reached:

1. That the State Government will open up the Tipper Garrage Road for traffic between the hours of 6.00a.m and 10.00a.m and between 3.30p.m and 5.00p.m from December 15th, 2022

2. The state government also promised to continuously wet the opened-up portion of the Road to reduce the attendant dust;

3. The state government also promised to grade all alternative inner-Tanke routes along the University Road to make for smooth ride and ease the traffic gridlock

4. The Kwara State Government hopes to complete the road construction in January, 2023.

The University Management commends the Kwara State Government for this gesture, which is meant to ease the traffic burden that our students, in particular, and commuters on the University Road, may be subjected to before the completion of the Tanke Flyover.
