Kwara inaugurates Mosquito-Net distribution committee

The Kwara Statemosquito net Government has inaugurated a committee to oversee the distribution of 1.1 million Long Lasting Insecticidal Nets across the 16 local local government areas of the state.

The Commissioner for Health in the state, Alhaji Atolagbe Alege, said this while inaugurating the committee in Ilorin that the aim was to protect the people from mosquito-related illnesses.

Alege said the essence of the committee was to ensure a hitch-free distribution of the nets.

ROYAL NEWS gathered that the panel members include members of the security service, workers in the ministries of Health, Information and NGOs.

According to him, the state government will ensure that the traditional leaders, local government officials and those at ward level, among others, were involved in the distribution.

Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary in the Kwara Ministry of Health, Abdulsalam  Idris, reiterated that the nets would save mothers, children and pregnant women from malaria.
