KWASU VC tasks alumni to be committed to voluntary service

The Vice Chancellor of the Kwara State University, Professor AbdulRasheed Na’Allah, says the spirit of volunteerism is critical to the services and development of the nation.

Professor Na’Allah said this today while presenting Scholarship Award organized by the University’s Alumni Association to ten outstanding selected students across all the departments of the Institution.

The Vice Chancellor explained that understanding the values of selfless services, volunteerism and patriotism would build a virile society in Nigeria.

Professor Na’Allah who commended the Alumni Association of the Institution for considering the spirit of volunteerism in the selection of the beneficiaries, charged the students of the University to always render selfless services to the University and humanity.

According to him, volunteerism allows the students to garnered experience across all the fields of profession and paved way for them to easily gain employment in the future.

Earlier, the President of the Kwara State University Alumni Association, Mr. Damilare Peter Oyinloye described the Scholarship Award as the most consistent scholarship programme in the University since its establishment.

Mr. Oyinloye noted that despite the economic quagmire confronting the country, students were supported through the Scholarship award for part of their tuition fees and educational endowment support services towards facilitating learning and selfless services in the institution.
