KWEPA Boss Rallies Support from Head of Service, Seeks United Front for Cleaner Kwara

As part of ongoing efforts to deepen stakeholder engagement within the Kwara State public service, the General Manager of the Kwara State Environmental Protection Agency (KWEPA), Hon. Jide Aina, has paid a courtesy visit to the Permanent Secretary, Service Welfare, in the Office of the Head of Service (OHOS).

The visit, which took place in Ilorin, was aimed at fostering greater institutional collaboration, enhancing inter-agency efficiency, and aligning KWEPA’s environmental objectives with the broader goal of effective and people-centered public service delivery.

In his remarks, Hon. Aina expressed appreciation for the warm reception and reaffirmed the need for synergy between KWEPA and the OHOS, particularly in promoting environmental discipline and staff accountability across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).

“Promoting staff welfare, fostering a culture of accountability, and instilling environmental consciousness within government institutions are key to achieving the State’s developmental priorities,” Aina stated.

He further reiterated KWEPA’s commitment to an open-door leadership style, promising to roll out forward-thinking policies that will support a clean, safe, and healthy environment for all Kwarans.

In her response, Dr. (Mrs.) Shittu Olufunke, the Permanent Secretary, Service Welfare, commended Hon. Aina for his proactive engagement and visible dedication since assuming office. She also pledged the full support of the Office of the Head of Service, especially in the areas of staff development, welfare initiatives, and strengthened inter-agency collaboration.

Both parties agreed on the importance of sustained cooperation and expressed readiness to collaborate on joint initiatives aimed at promoting environmental compliance, staff sensitization, and effective service delivery throughout the state.
