Lagos Police nabs Masquerades for robbing residents

The Lagos State Police Command have arrested some masquerades for robbing and exhorting residents at Elere area of Agege, Lagos.

According to the police officials, the masquerades were apprehended alongside other hoodlums for robbing members of the community and also causing breach of the peace in the area. Read also:Ogunmodede, 2 others bag 40yrs jail-term

It was gathered that the residents of the area were happy when the police apprehended the hoodlums.

A resident who pleaded anonymity, said the masquerades have tormented the area for a while now and nothing was done about it.

The police officials added the masquerades who were not backed by the traditional ruler in the area tried to attack the policemen during their arrest.
