Immediate past Senate Leader, Senator Ahmad Lawan APC-Yobe North, has been elected the president of the 9th Senate.Lawan scored 79 votes to defeat another top contender to the position of number three citizen, Ali Ndume, APC-Borno South, who garnered 28 votes to emerge the senate president.All the present 107 senators-elect out of the available 109, participate in the election.Lawan was nominated by the chairman of the Senator Ahmad Lawan for Senate President Campaign Organisation, Senator Yahaya Abdullahi APC-Kebbi Central and seconded by Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, APC-Lagos West.Clerk of the National Assembly, CNA, Alhaji Mohammed Sani-Omolori pronounced Lawan the President the 9th Senate without any invalid vote.Details later…
