President of the Senate, Dr. Ahmad Lawan and his deputy, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, have rejoiced with the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole on the occasion of his 68 birthday anniversary.
Lawan, in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Ola Awoniyi, congratulated Oshiomhole on his good health despite the intensity of his life of service to Nigeria as a former labour leader, two-term governor of Edo State and in his current position as the national chairman of Nigeria’s governing party.
“The life of the former comrade governor has been that of struggle for the improvement of society, especially of the living conditions of the common Nigerians.
“This is clearly evident in his glittering records as a labour leader, Governor and now as the captain of the ship of our great party, the APC,” Lawan said.
The Senate President described Oshiomhole as “a man with the courage of his convictions, who has been consistent in his principled and dogged pursuit of life more abundant for Nigerians.”

In his own, Omo-Agege said Oshiomhole has etched an indelible footprint on the social, economic and political affairs of Nigeria.

In a goodwill message personally signed by him to mark the 68th birthday of the APC national chairman, he commended the former labour leader for his services to fatherland.

“Given your activist record as a unionist whose impactful leadership directly touched the lives of your union members and influenced government policies and decisions, you have paid your dues.

“And, as the national chairman of Nigeria’s ruling progressive party, the All Progressives Congress, your leadership is of historical significance as the nation battles to extricate itself from the shackles of underdevelopment and move to the next level of prosperity for all and sundry.

“I have no doubt that the common threads of patriotism and unyielding idealism towards the welfare of all as exemplified by your activism  as well as the progressive ideals that our party holds dear, all signpost the immense positive possibilities ahead.

“And so, on behalf of my family, my dear constituents and the entire membership of the APC South-South, we wish you good health and more fulfilling years ahead,” Omo-Agege who doubles as leader of the APC in the South-South stated.
