Lawmaker support victims of armed bandit in Niger

The Senator representing Niger East Senatorial District, Mohammed Sani Musa, has donated relief materials worth millions of naira to victims of the armed bandit attacks on eight communities in Shiroro local government area of Niger State.
The items which were mostly food stuff, clothing materials and toiletries include one hundred bags of rice, one hundred cartons of Spaghetti, one hundred cartons of Macaroni, one hundred cartons of Indomie, 200 bills of female and male clothing as well as bathing and washing soaps.
The lawmaker condemned the attacks on harmless citizens who were going about their normal activities, describing it as the height of inhumanity.
Senator Sani Musa said he was touched by the news of the attacks on his people who have been enjoying peace until now.
Represented by a team of his Campaign Advisory Committee, Senator Sani Musa said the relief materials were meant to cushion the effects of the people’s sufferings.
Speaking to  the media, a member of the Committee, Mohammed Nma Kolo said, “We are here solely represent the Senator. We are all pained by this crude and wicked act of the bandit. I am deeply moved as I speak to you now. I can’t just imagine how a human being can be so wicked, so terrible, so ungodly to lay ambush on harmless human beings going about their normal citizens just to bring them horror, sorrow.”
He assured that the lawmaker would continue to strive towards achieving better welfare and security for his constituents as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
He expressed optimism that Senator Sani Musa will use his position as Senator representing Niger  East to bring development to the people he represents and the state in general.
“This is purely humanitarian. It is to serve as a succour to the people. A lot of young people lost their parents and a lot of women are now widows just because of this wickedness. We pray God to continue to expose those behind this dastardly act.”
He pressed on the government to promote community policing as a matter of importance.
Chairman of Advisory Committee, Idris Abubakar Azozo, said the relief materials were meant to cushion the effects of the people’s sufferings.
He assured that he would continue to strive towards achieving better welfare and security for his constituents as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the people, the District Head of Kwaki, Alhaji Idris Bawa commended Senator Sani Musa for the kind gesture, saying they are happy that he has identified with them in their moment of grief.
He however urged the lawmaker and the state as well as the federal governments to urgently address the increasing level of armed banditry, kidnapping and cattle rustling in the area.
Also speaking on behalf of the communities affected, the Secretary of the Committee of Affected Communities, Alhaji Yahuza Erena, said the gesture by Senator Sani Musa will go a long way in alleviating the sufferings of the affected communities.
According to him, they were initially faced with several challenges after the incident, which included lack of food and clothing for the children, but that the donations by the lawmaker has brought respite to them.
