Poor service delivery by the management of the Medview Airline has led to the abortion of the trip of the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman, Kwara State Traditional Council, Alhaji Ibarhim Sulu-Gambari as well as other monarchs for this year’s pilgrimage, ROYAL NEWS has learnt.

It was reliably gathered that the Emir of Ilorin along with other traditional rulers across the country were specially invited on the request of the King of Saudi Arabia to perform this year’s hajj operation.

Unfortunately, while Alhaji Sulu-Gambari along with the Olofa of Offa, Timi of Ede, Aragbigi of Iragbigi, Olomu of Omupo and the Aseyin of Iseyin, who are scheduled to embark on their journey to the Holy land on Tuesday (Today) were outrightly disappointed as they could not go beyond the Ilorin International Airport.

ROYAL NEWS  reports that as early as 7am on Tuesday, traditional rulers from far and near have arrived the ancient palace of the Emir of Ilorin being the take-off point for the journey to the Ilorin International Airport to board MEDVIEW Airline to Abuja.

The Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR discussing with his Personal Assistant, Alhaji Muritala at the Ilorin International Airport on Tuesday.

Speaking with the National Secretary of Shehu Alimi foundation for Peace and Development, Mallam Abdulazeez Arowona, he said: “His Royal Highness has bidded us farewell and exchanged pleasantries with the visiting monarchs at and set out for the airport with a very long convoy which included the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Balogun Gambari, Magaji Aare, Balogun Ajikobi as well as other high profile personalities.

“In fact, on arrival at the Airport, the Emir had also given me the tips for his Sallah message to be released during the Eid-el-Kabir festival. Actually, the MEDVIEW domestic flight was scheduled from Ilorin to Abuja for 9am while the international flight to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia via British Airline was scheduled for 2pm at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Internatioanl Airport, Abuja and we arrived at the airport at exactly 8.50am.”

Arowona added that, “To our dismay, it was announced that the flight has been postponed for an hour while it was later tactical disclosed that the flight to convey the monarchs to Abuja would not arrive Ilorin until 2pm (being expected time for the take-off of the British Airline to Saudi Arabia from Abuja). Therefore, after several efforts to find alternative for the situation, the Emir and his entourage had to return home disappointingly. But we accepted it in good faith as the will of Allah.”

All efforts to get across to the helmsman of the Airline , Mr. Bankole through his mobile line; 08033818300 proved abortive.
