Former Super Eagles midfielder John Mikel Obi says he expects Chelsea to secure a top-four finish in the Premier League this season but does not see them competing for the title.
Speaking on his podcast, the former Chelsea star said the current squad lacks the experience required to mount a serious title challenge. “I think we’re not going to win the league this season,” he said. “We just lack a bit more experience in terms of winning the league.”
Mikel added that a top-four finish should be the club’s target. “Top four should be the aim this season. But listen, if we’re there, we’re there,” he noted.
Chelsea head into the November international break in third place with 20 points from their opening 11 matches, six points behind leaders Arsenal, whom they face after the break.
