The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Kwara Chapter, on Thursday donated cars to two of its members to ease the effect of transportation occasioned by lockdown due to COVID-19 pandemic.

ROYAL NEWS reports that the association also launched over N 4 million digital library and gymnastic centre worth N10million.

Kwara NBA Chairman, Muhammed Akande, said the quest to make legal practise comfortable for its members especially the young wigs, informed the association gesture.

He said that the NBA in the state was determined to make impact by doing what has never been done in the history of the association.

“I wish I could do more, for every legal animal, you must be ready to make history which can only be achieved by doing what has never been done.

“Two years ago, when I came on board, I had a slogan then that ‘Ilorin Bar, New Age’. Ilorin NBA is now digitalised.

“I can say authoritatively, say that none of the more than 130 branch of the NBA has e-library and gym centre, the judiciary will learn from us just as the CJ has said. Work is now made easy even at this Coronavirus period with the e-library,” Akande said.

The NBA chairman said that he was able to run crisis free association due to the cooperation of the members.

A former chairman of NBA, Mallam Yusuf Ali (SAN), called for unity among members.

“We make all manners of arguments in court, that could have literally affected our relationship, but after the proceedings, we still meet at the bar chat.

“Life is more beautiful than keeping malice and grudges, we should learn to maintain oneness, cases will go, but relationship should remain,” he said.

The Chief Judge of the State, Justice Saidu Kawu, urged members of the Bar to maintain and judiciously use the facilities.

A beneficiary, Mrs Okegbenro Oluwatoyin, commended the leadership of the association for the gesture.

“I am very happy and is like am dreaming, I am a mother of two and I use bike to carry my children to school, but now God has done it. No more bike in my life,” she said.
