Mrs Julie Donli, the President of Rotary Club of Abuja Aso-Golf, says she will adopt a school for the provision of clean water, hygiene and sanitation facilities for school child in Abuja.

Donli said this after her investiture as the second president of the club on Saturday in Abuja
“For my one year tenure, I will focus on skill acquisition training, empowerment projects for the first batch of fifty caddies.

“Also an adoption of a school for the provision of clean water, hygiene and sanitation facilities for school child in Abuja,’’ she said.

She pledged offering offering selfless service to humanity for her one-year duration,  adding that she would station a nurse at the starter of the golf course to read the blood pressure of golfers to ensure they are fit.

“ Ours is a society where much emphasis is placed on personal wealth accumulation, however we must always remember the less privilege amongst us.

“Also, the fact that life in abundance comes as a result of not keeping all to ourselves but in giving ourselves to others,’’ she said.

Donli called on well-meaning Nigerians to promote peace in order to make the country worth living.

She said that the seven areas of focus for the club were promoting peace, fighting diseases, providing clean water, sanitaton and hygiene, saving mothers and children, supporting education and growing local economic.

Donli said that the theme of the club for 2022 to 2023 is `Imagine Rotary’ which would mean imagining a world free from conflict, war and striving, free from sickness and affiction.

Others she said were where health and wealth abound, where both the rich and poor have equal access to clean water and a balance Eco-system free from pollution and global warming.

Donli appealed to Nigerians having the means to contribute to the club to enable the body improve on health, provide quality education, improve the environment and alleviate poverty in Nigeria.

She called on the club members to give her the support for her to succeed and move the club higher.

Earlier in his speech, the immediate past president of the club, Mr James Agbonhese said that during his tenure in the 20212022 rotary year, the club achieved a lot in the area of membership and providing impactful projects.

Agbonhese said that the club was to support the children’s clinic at the golf club as they were able to bring caddies to be a better citizen in future.
