Nigerian doctors abroad shed tears after receiving first salary

Some Nigerian doctors in Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom and the United States of America have criticized the Federal Government for it’s alleged collapse in the health sector.
Some of the doctors who shared their experiences said that they shed tears and felt over joyed when they received their first salary, which is 10times more than their Nigerian salary and attend to four to eight patient per day compared to the tons of patients they attend to in Nigeria.
Some doctors who have been there some years ago said their life had witnessed a remarkable change and are valued and respected as they are appreciated that they are smart and intelligent.
Another doctor, popularly known as wakawaka on Twitter said, “When I arrived, I was hosted in a hotel for two weeks, all paid. I never paid rent during my stay there; I never paid for electricity. My salary as a doctor in Nigeria combining two jobs was less than N120,000. In Saudi, I earned around 10 times that amount.
“Less workload; amazing state-of-the-art facilities; good hospital management systems; health insurance; paid leave and free tickets for holidays.
Nigerian Government, have however been urged to improve in their health sector in order not to lose competent doctor.
