Nigerian Pilot Newspaper’s reporter escapes death

Barely 24 hours after news about the death of NAIJ.com’s photojournalist, Yinka Adeparusi was broken, another journalist with Nigerian Pilot Newspapers was nearly killed in a fire incident on Wednesday morning.

He is Kehinde Ibrahim who covers Business bits and based in Lagos.

According to reports on Wednesday, a tanker fully laden with Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) caught fire as the tanker ran into a truck carrying beer which reportedly stopped suddenly along Lagos/Ibadan expressway.

The inferno was said to have affected six other vehicles (five trucks and a car) one of which belonged to Kehinde Ibrahim, who escaped the incident.

Ibrahim had his car totally burnt but he miraculously escaped unhurt, looking really perturbed.

The incident which caused serious gridlock on the ever-busy road as many road users were left stranded on their way to work on Wednesday morning. As at the time of filing this report, the casualties involved could not be ascertained but the Lagos state fire service were on top of the situation.
