The media team of Senator Andy Uba for Governorship bid has debunked reports that a certain aspirant has been endorsed as APC candidate for the November governorship election in Anambra state.

In a statement issued on Saturday, Uba’s media office described the claim as untrue and laughable.

” We have been inundated with statements that certain candidates in the space of a few hours from the commencement of the primaries  have been endorsed by the presidency or the National Executive as the candidate of the APC for November 18  elections.

“These statements are laughable as well as untrue owing to the fact that the true situation of things now favour an Uba candidacy.

“However, owing to our principal’s decision to abide by the rules of the game, we have continued to keep faith with the system by allowing them to vote their candidate of choice.

“We urge Ndi Anambra to thus disregard any claims of anyone as an annointed or endorsed candidate without the votes of the delegates.”

The primary election for the All Progressives Congress (APC) held today, Saturday but the results are yet to be announced.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), another party contending for the state number one position has scheduled its primary election for Monday.
