NOUN VC matriculates over 20,000 fresh students
The Vice-Chancellor of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Professor Olufemi Peters, has pleaded with the institution’s new students to extend the institution’s slogan of “quality education delivered with equality and flexible access, to learn at your rhythm”. anywhere.”
Peters said it this Tuesday, at the university’s 22nd Matriculation Ceremony, which took place virtually in the 103 study centers nationwide.
He urged new entrants to pass on the university’s mantra to their families, friends, colleagues, associates and associates in society and in the business world.
He also urged them to make the best use of the opportunities available to them for learning and excellence at the university to improve their self-esteem.
“Your subsequent prosperity is a shared success for you, your family and immediate friends, for your alma mater, the NOUN, for Nigeria and the world,” he said at the event that took place just a fortnight after the graduation ceremony of University. .
“Each of you is now our ambassador. The uniqueness of our university makes our graduates the focus of special interest and evaluation by others, who are eager to determine the quality of the training invested in you while you are here.”
While he emphasized providing a highly rewarding online study experience, he revealed that in an effort to bridge the gap between students and the university.
“We are prepared to implement, in the coming weeks, a feedback system to collect and resolve complaints that may arise in its interface with our various units.
“This has been combined with other service delivery applications including assessments – tutorials, quizzes and exams.
“Our more than 103 study centers and headquarters are equipped with academics, professional ODL administrators, counselors and appropriate learning infrastructure, including electronic library facilities, to provide the support you will need for a successful higher educational experience.
“It is my firm hope that by the end of your tenure at NOUN, you will have acquired not only the knowledge and skills, but also the right strength of character and tenacity to navigate through the challenges of a modern world of global competition.
“I also believe that it will be able to contribute significantly in elevating our country, Nigeria, to its well-deserved place of greatness in Africa and the world,” he said.
The Registrar of the university, Mr. Felix Edoka, administered the matriculation oath to the students through the Zoom platform, urging them to comply with the rules and regulations of the university.
