NSCDC Arrests Four Notorious Burglars in Kano

Date:

Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command, have arrested four suspected vandals and burglars notorious for breaking into homes across the state.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Ibrahim Abdullahi, disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen on Friday.

Abdullahi said the suspects were apprehended in three different local government areas—Dambatta, Fagge, and Tarauni—during intensified operations aimed at curbing criminal activities in the state.

“In the course of our determined effort and intensified operations within the state, we have arrested some notorious suspected vandals and burglars who specialised in burgling houses at three different locations in the state,” the statement read.

He added that the suspects had confessed to committing the offences and were found in possession of various stolen items.

Exhibits recovered from the suspects include nine mobile phones, one bicycle, three standing fans, three solar panels, one flat-screen television, two bundles of wires, two burglar windows, iron materials, three MP3 speakers, one small solar panel, one power bank, and three vehicle tyres.

Abdullahi said the arrests form part of the command’s ongoing efforts to combat vandalism and other criminal acts across Kano State.

He noted that investigations into the cases have been concluded and the suspects would soon be charged to court.

“The NSCDC under the leadership of the State Commandant, Bala Bodinga, remains committed to its mandate of protecting critical national assets and infrastructure as well as safeguarding lives and property,” Abdullahi said.

He urged members of the public to support security agencies by reporting suspicious movements and sharing useful information to help prevent crime in their communities.

In September, the NSCDC had also announced the arrest of 19 suspected vandals in separate operations across several local government areas in the state.
