Nwabali Focused on Career, Not Free Agent Status

Date:

Stanley Nwabali has said he remains unbothered about being clubless at the moment, DAILY POST reports. The goalkeeper is currently a free agent after leaving South African side Chippa United, but he insists his focus is on returning to active play.

The 29-year-old shot-stopper has been linked with South African giants Kaizer Chiefs and is also reportedly attracting interest from several Libyan clubs. Despite these opportunities, Nwabali emphasized that he is open to playing wherever he is welcomed.

Nwabali’s current inactivity has implications for his international career, as he is not expected to be included in the Super Eagles’ squad for the upcoming friendlies against Iran and Jordan. The lack of club action could affect his chances of maintaining a spot in the national team.

However, the former Enyimba goalkeeper reassured fans that he will soon return to the pitch, dismissing concerns about a prolonged absence from professional football. He maintained a calm and flexible approach regarding his next club.

“I’m not worried… I don’t have a particular place or country I want to play in,” Nwabali told Soccerladuma. “Anywhere that welcomes me well, I can play. So, that’s it,” he said, signaling readiness to resume his career soon.
