Osakwe was a renowned politician, elderstateman, says Omo-Agege

Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has described the late Senator Patrick Enebeli Osakwe as a renowned politician, businessman and elder statesman.

Senator Osakwe, who represented Delta North Senatorial District in the National Assembly from 1999 to 2011, reportedly died on Tuesday at the aged of 73 years.

The Deputy Senate President, in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Yomi Odunuga, expressed shock and sadness over the demise of late former lawmaker.

According to Omo-Agege, who represents Delta Central Senatorial District, Osakwe gave a good account of himself in the Red Chamber between 1999 and 2011.

“I received with shock and sadness, the news of the passing of Senator Patrick Enebeli Osakwe, a renowned politician, businessman, bridge builder and elder statesman.

“Senator Osakwe served his fatherland diligently at the highest level of lawmaking.

“His contributions as a three-time Senator, who served in the Senate Committees of Appropriation; Niger Delta; Gas as well as Banking, Insurance and Other Financial Institutions where he influenced the construction of several projects in his constituency and beyond would remain evergreen in our hearts,” he stated.

Omo-Agege commiserated with the family of the deceased, the Ndokwa nation, Delta State government, friends and political associates over the unfortunate news.

Specifically, he urged the family members to take solace in the good works of their father, grandfather and great grandfather while praying for the repose of his soul.
