Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has provided an update on the hamstring injury he sustained during Nigeria’s World Cup qualifying playoff defeat to DR Congo on Sunday.
The 26-year-old was forced off in the second half, replaced by Akor Adams, as DR Congo eventually won 4-3 on penalties following a 1-1 draw after 120 minutes.
Speaking to A Spor at Istanbul Airport after the match, Osimhen reassured fans, stating that his injury “is not very serious.” He is targeting a timely recovery to feature for Galatasaray in their Turkish Super Lig clash against Gençlerbirliği on Saturday.
Osimhen joined the Turkish champions permanently from Napoli during the summer transfer window and has continued to play a key role for both club and country.
