The Bursar of the Federal University, Oye Ekiti, FUOYE, Mr. Adejuyigbe
Adebayo, has passed on.

Adejuyigbe, 59 died on Thursday during  FUOYE’s Governing council
meeting held in Lagos at the instance of its Chairman, Prof. Sa’adat
Mabadeje.

Adejuyigbe, who hailed from Offa, Kwara State, was buried on Friday
according to Islamic rites.

He was a Deputy Bursary at the University of Ilorin before he was
seconded to FUOYE in 2015 as a substantive bursar.

Information had it  that Adejuyigbe had traveled to Lagos and developed
health complication when the meeting was on before he was rushed to an
undisclosed hospital where he died.

A source revealed that the  deceased  didn’t manifest  any sign of
ailment as of the time he left for Lagos, which made the staff of the
institution to be confounded by his death.

“He was in the meeting when suddenly he started shaking and slumped.
He was revived and was rushed to the hospital where he died.

“His health situation deteriorated on the way to the hospital and he
died shortly after he got to the hospital”, he said.

Soremekun, who confirmed his death, described Adejuyigbe’s sudden
demise as very devastating, saying his professional expertise and
commitment shall be sorely missed.

The VC, who spoke through the university’s Public Relations Officer,
Mr Godfrey Bakji , said: “He had been buried in his country home and we
pray that the good Allah will grant the family the fortitude to bear
the loss.

“Mr Adejuyigbe was a prudent and highly professional man. His advice
to the management had helped in so many ways and times.  He was a
reservoir of knowledge on fiscal issues.  He was a good and dependable
administrator one can count on.

“The university community commiserates with his family, the people of
Kwara state and the federal government over the loss of this
illustrious son and a great Nigerian”, Soremekun said.
