The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, Mai-Martaba Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR at the weekend expressed joy over the appointment of Prof Lateef Folorunsho Oladimeji, as the 6th Vice Chancellor of Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin.
This is contained in a statement issued by his spokesman, Dr Abdulazeez Arowona, stressing that the appointment is well-deserved and capable of promoting scholarship in the highly valued institution.
The Emir emphasized that the varsity don is an hardworking, committed and visionary academician who has carved a niche for himself beyond the academic environment.
He specifically commended Prof. Oladimeji’s previous administrative records as the pioneer Head, Department of Islamic Studies, pioneer Registrar and Secretary to Council, pioneer Director, Centre for Part-Time and Professional Studies (CPPS); Director, Centre for Research, Industrial Linkages and International Collaboration (CRIIC), pioneer Director of Information Unit, Director Academic Planning (DAP) and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (DVC).
The traditional ruler therefore rejoiced with the founder of the institution and Jagunmolu of Igbomina, Chief Abdulraheem Oladimeji OFR, for his visionary and exceptional contributions to educational development in Nigeria.
