The leadership of the Radio, Television Theatre and Art Workers Union (RATTAWU), has urged the Federal Government to intensify efforts towards securing the release of the remaining Chibok schoolgirls and Dapchi schoolgirl that are still in the custody of the Boko Haram insurgents.
RATTAWU’s Women Leader, North Central zone, Comrade Hauwa Sambo, stated this in her message on the occasion of the 2018 Children Day celebrations. She urged government to come up with a dedicated fund to assist the various Ministries of Social welfare in the states to take care the orphans in the country.
ROYAL NEWS gathered that this year’s celebration was tagged: “Creating Safe Spaces for Children: Our Collective Responsibility’’.
Sambo further explained the significant role of the Nigerian Child in the nation’s development and the need to lay a good foundation for them and secure their future.
‘It is the responsibility of the government to provide socio-amenities for the citizenry in order to have the impact of democracy. Parents particularly, women should monitor the activities of their wards and children against joining bad gangs in the society”, she added.
