Nasarawa United reclaimed the top spot in the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, after a commanding 3-0 victory over El-Kanemi Warriors on Sunday at the Lafia City Stadium.
The Solid Miners, who had gone five league games without a win, were inspired by last season’s top scorer, Anas Yusuf, who struck twice. Garba Mohammed added the third to seal an emphatic performance for the home side.
In Abeokuta, defending champions Remo Stars continued their strong form with a 2-0 win over Barau FC at the Moshood Abiola Sports Arena. Goals from Ahmed Akinyele and Victor Mbaoma secured all three points.
Meanwhile in Enugu, Rangers bounced back to winning ways with a 1-0 triumph over Niger Tornadoes. Kenechukwu Agu scored the decisive goal with 20 minutes left on the clock.
