In a statement signed by the Director of Media and Advocacy, it was revealed that on September 3, 2024, at a logistics company, officers of the Directorate of Operations and General Investigation recovered 30 parcels of cocaine weighing 1.1 kilograms, concealed in hair cream containers destined for Ireland.

Checks revealed that, “On September 6th, another consignment of 24 parcels of cocaine, weighing 862 grams and hidden in similar containers, was seized before it could be shipped to the UK.”

Additionally, 525 pills of tramadol 225mg and ecstasy (MDMA) concealed in sanitary pads bound for Cyprus were intercepted at another courier firm in Lagos on September 3rd.

In a related operation, the NDLEA seized 200 ampoules of promethazine and pentazocine injections hidden in food items and herbs, which were heading to London on September 4th.

These actions are part of the agency’s intensified efforts to combat drug trafficking through various smuggling methods.
