Sen. Ibezim collaborates with NSIP to trains independent monitors

Senator representing Imo North senatorial district, Senator Frank Ibezim has collaborated with the National Social Investment Programme, NSIP, under the auspices of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs to train and equip 10 youths, as independent monitors of the Federal Government NSIP Programmes in the district.

Ibezim disclosed this to ROYAL NEWS on Thursday in Abuja, “Among others, the beneficiaries were equipped with electronic notepads and uniforms, with stipulated monthly stipends.”

The NSIP Programmes include Job Creation-NPOWER; National Home-Grown School Feeding, NHGSFP; Conditional Cash Transfer, CCT; and the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme, (GEEP).

The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, FMHADMSD, has trained since inception over 7,452 independent monitors to ensure effective implementation and monitoring of the integrated National Social Investment Programmes, NSIP, across the country.

The distinguished lawmaker has been unrelenting in initiating programmes that would improve the economic lives of his constituents and thereby reduce social vices among the people.

Some of the empowerment programmes have begun bearing fruits, as 60 beneficiaries, who passed out of the training programme, have now proudly showcased their products.

Only recently, Ibezim, who is a member of the Senate Committee on Basic and Foundational Education, bagged the ‘Most Outstanding Performance in Education’ award.

The vice chairman of the Senate Committee on Industries, was presented with the award during the Nigeria Orientation Assembly Award 2022, organised by the National Institute of Legislative and Democratic Studies.

Ibezim’s trail blazing solar panel and street lights projects have lit up the Imo North, also called Okigwe Zone thus enhancing economic well-being of the constituents
