Senators donate N1m each to victims of Kaduna drone misfire

All the 109 senators in the country have donated their one-month salaries, amounting to N109million to the victims of drone mishap in Tudun Biri, Igabi Local Government Area of the Kaduna State.

The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, announced this at the Kaduna Government House when he led a high-powered delegation of the Senate to the state on Sunday.

The Senators, according to a statement signed by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Deputy Senate President, Alhaji Ismail Mudashir, were received by the state governor, Senator Uba Sani.

Senator Barau said the money would be sent to the state governor for onward delivery to the victims.

Receiving the lawmakers, Governor Sani thanked them for their donation.

The delegation comprised of the Senate Leader, Senator Micheal Opayemi Bamidele; the Chief Whip, Senator Ali Ndume; Minority Leader, Senator Abba Moro; Deputy Minority Leader, Senator Kamorudeen Olalere; Senators Abdulhamid Malam-Madori; Aliyu Ikra Bilbis and Ibrahim Bomoi.

Others were Senators Ibrahim Lamido; Abdulaziz Yar’Adua; Victor Umeh; Muntari Dandutse; Lawal Usman; and Emmanuel Udende.

The lawmakers also visited the victims at the Barau Dikko Hospital in Kaduna.
